Update and Plan

Well, it’s been a while….

 

Since I last updated, we have added two teen boys to our household, bringing our in-house family size to six children and two adults. We survived the holidays. We might be entering a season of less busy until summer rolls around, but even less busy for us is pretty intense. I am working full time now as well, so I have been stretched pretty thin.

 

Since going back to work, the baby has started to lose weight. We finally got him to start taking cups of breastmilk, but he is having regular weight checks. Appointments that I can’t go to now without using precious time off that I will need for the next bout of sicknesses in the house. We have already knocked out Flu, ear infection, stomach bugs, and pneumonia since Christmas. I have been on speaker for each appointment though, which helps a lot.

 

All that being said, I still want to be a relatable and helpful resource for parents. I still need an outlet for the tangled mess in my head. Fun fact, my therapist has determined she is fairly confident that I have ADHD on top of my bipolar disorder, but until we treat the bipolar and have me on a mood stabilizer, she won’t medicate the ADHD. Soooooo, we practice coping skills and brain hacks and discuss and order books I don’t have the time or focus to actually read.

 

My new job is deeply connected to my desire to help families as a whole. Because of what it entails, I have been getting a ton of training on prenatal/infant/child development, relationship building, safety topics, and supporting families in ways that promote self-sufficiency using the strengths they may not even know they have. I am excited to work with my families professionally, but definitely do not want to gatekeep all of this vital research based information! In the interest of that you all may see a slight shift in my content to be more educational than inspirational, at least for a while.

 

I know some of you have been struggling and I know that I have only been providing crickets, but I am still here, I am still hoping to be a source of support and encouragement, and I am always available if you want to message, comment, or email for specific things.
